Science fiction and fact are racing towards a merge that should send anarchists shuddering and libertarians shaking their heads. Foursquare had locations of users registered for all to see. It was fun and integrated to be used in some social media gaming. In the beginning it was a novel way of keeping to one's diet. Then it will become normal as the applications morph more and more into the realm of necessary. It will become fashionable, cool and then even patriotic perhaps to adhere to the future status quo.
